Coach Matt
Matt grew up in New Jersey, where he first found the sport running track and cross country. A relentless front-runner who attacked every hill and never faded on the back half, his teammates gave him a name that stuck for life: "The Green Leaf Beast."
After high school he chased the miles across the world. He spent years living, training, and racing internationally — primarily in Japan, where he fell for the country's deep running culture, its mountain trail circuits, and its legendary cycling routes. From early-morning marathon starts in Tokyo to long-distance rides along the Shimanami Kaidō and the roads winding beneath Mt. Fuji and across Hokkaido, Matt learned that endurance is built on patience, consistency, and a genuine love of the journey.
Today he brings that same energy home to the Travel Bandwagon Run Club — meeting every athlete exactly where they are, and helping them go somewhere they never thought they could.

Do I need to be fit or experienced to join?
Not at all. The majority of our members start as complete beginners. Every plan is built around your current fitness — the only requirement is that you're ready to start.
Where and when are the group runs?
Our community group runs happen every Saturday morning at 8:00am. Sign up below and we'll send you the current meetup location and pace groups.
Do you coach cyclists and triathletes too?
Absolutely. Coach Matt trains and races on the bike as much as on foot, and offers dedicated cycling and cross-training programs.
Can you coach me while I'm traveling?
Yes — that's the whole idea. Our Virtual & Remote Coaching is built for people on the move, with plans and check-ins that work from any time zone.
